Key terms and concepts in V-Total

1. Division

A tournament where players compete by predicting football match results. Each division has a specific MMR range and can be Solo (PvP), Team (TvT), or Cup format.

2. Free Division

A division without an entry fee in VT. Perfect for beginners, provides experience and MMR growth.

3. Paid Division

A division with an entry fee in VT. Forms a prize pool from participant fees (minus 10% commission).

4. Round

A single stage of a division consisting of 6 football matches. Players make predictions for all matches in a round.

5. Season

A set of rounds within a division/server. After a season ends, the division may restart with a new season number.

6. Match

A specific real football game for which predictions are made (home/away score).

7. MMR (Matchmaking Rating)

A numerical rating that reflects your skill level. Determines which divisions you can join and changes based on your performance.

8. Solo MMR / Team MMR

Individual player rating / team rating. Solo MMR is used for PvP; Team MMR is used for TvT divisions.

9. VT (V-Total Currency)

Internal currency used for entry fees in paid divisions and prize pools. Can be earned by winning or purchased.

10. PvP (Player vs Player)

Solo division format where individual players compete against each other. Also called Solo divisions.

11. TvT (Team vs Team)

Team division format where teams of 3 players compete. Players have roles (Defender, Midfielder, Forward) and use special abilities.

12. Cup Division

Elimination tournament format where participants compete in elimination rounds until a champion is determined.

13. MVP (Most Valuable Player)

The player with the highest points in a round. MVP gets to select matches for the next round.

14. Match Selection

Step when MVP selects 6 matches for the next round. If not selected, system selects randomly.

15. Abilities

Special mechanics in team divisions, tied to player roles and applied to round matches.

16. Roles

In TvT, each team has roles: Defender, Midfielder, Forward.

17. Team Captain

Team creator. Accepts/rejects invitations, manages roster and payments in paid TvT divisions.

18. Defensive Wall

Defender ability: Reduces opponent forward's points in selected match by half.

19. Red Card

Defender ability: Nullifies opponent's points in selected match (rare resource, ~1 per 3 rounds).

20. Field Tactics

Midfielder ability: Distributes matches to attack and defense (up to 3 matches each).

21. Key Pass

Midfielder ability: Adds difference to both attack and defense simultaneously (limit: ~1 per 3 rounds).

22. All-Out Attack

Forward ability: Doubles points for match (penalty -3 points if outcome is incorrect).

23. Double Match

Forward ability: Doubles points in one selected match only (limit: ~1 per 3 rounds).

24. Slam Points

Bonus points awarded for making multiple accurate predictions (2+ points) in a single round.

25. CI (Closeness Index)

A metric that measures how close your prediction is to the actual result. Lower CI = closer prediction.

26. Deadline

Time limit for submitting predictions. For matches, it's 1 hour before kickoff. After deadline, predictions cannot be changed.

27. Registration Deadline

The moment after which a division closes registration and becomes Active (when launch conditions are met).

28. Match Deadline

Individual deadline for each match: 1 hour before kickoff. After deadline, predictions for the match cannot be changed.

29. Server

A separate instance of V-Total covering specific football leagues. Examples: Blue Server, Red Server.

30. Entry Fee

Amount in VT required to participate in a paid division.

31. Prize Pool

Prize fund in a paid division, formed from entry fees (minus 10% commission).

32. Leaderboard / Standings

Ranking of participants in a division or round by points earned (and additional tiebreakers).

33. Goal Difference

Metric in TvT and Cup formats for tiebreakers: goals scored minus goals conceded.

34. Cup Bracket

Elimination match bracket in Cup divisions (Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Final).

35. Penalty Shootout

Reserve mechanism to determine winner in case of a tie by points in Cup matches.

36. Bye

Situation in the bracket where a participant advances without playing (when there is an odd number of players).
